籠、初秋、涼

猛暑が続いていますが、暦の上では立秋を迎え、涼を感じたいと思い籠を使ってみました。

初秋の花々に出会ったのが嬉しくて沢山入れすぎてしまい、ご指摘のもとある程度減らし、利休草のなびきで何とか秋風を吹かせられたかと…
ちょっとした遊び心で籠には毛糸を編み込みました。

敷板に毛糸をもう一本、先生がさらに素敵な遊び心を加えて下さいました。

自由花: 菊、リンドウ、紫錦唐松、ルリ玉アザミ、利休草、ベンケイ草

Created a free style work with a basket instead of usual earthenware vase, as I wanted to have some sense of relief amid extremely hot days – boiling, infernal, whatever!!- yet, 8th Aug. is the first day of autumn by our old calendar.
As I got too excited to encounter the early autumn flowers, arranged excessively in this small basket.  Following Sensei’s advices, removed some and a bit emphasized a gentle curve of Stemona’s fine stems, expecting a refreshing autumn breeze blown in my work…
Just for fun, decorated the basket with some braided yarns.
And then, Sensei placed another one on the mat out of her refined playful mind.
